Youth

Through partnering with parents and carers, and under the sovereignty of God, we long for our children and young people here at CityGates to know Jesus, to love Jesus, to stand for Jesus and to live for Jesus.

Sundays

We aim to teach Jesus faithfully and relevantly so that He is the foundation of our teens’ lives. To support our families growing together, our children’s and youth groups follow along with what the adults are learning in the main service through age-appropriate activities. After spending the first part of the service with the whole church family, our young people leave for their groups (please see our toddlers and youth page to see more of our Sunday groups).

Shoots

Year 6 to Year 9 // 9:30am and 11:15am

This group studies the bible together with questions, discussions and games. We really try to get to grips with who Jesus is and why that matters for us today. And food is always a staple part of our time together!

Shoots happens 3 Sundays out of 4. On the fourth Sunday, and in school holidays, our Shoots group are encouraged to stay in the main service for the sermon, to help the transition of when they sit in after 14.

14 +

Our teenagers who are 14+ stay in the main service for the sermon at the 9:30am and 11:15am services.

Pods

Discipleship groups for Christians // Fortnightly on Sundays // 6pm

Our older teenagers meet together in small groups (1-4 young people) with a dedicated leader. These are a chance to really dig into the bible together, ask questions and pray together. Pods start their time together by joining with the church family in the evening service at 6pm, then shortly after, head out to groups for discussions (and of course...food!).

Midweek

AIM/Switched

11-18s // Wednesdays during term-time // 7:30pm - 9pm // @CityGates

Our main midweek group for youth, with games, time to hang out with friends, art, and a whole lot of food! Every week, we take a look at the bible together to think about who God is and why that matters.

All those aged 11 - 18 are welcome to join us! Whether you are exploring the Christian faith, coming along with friends, or following Jesus yourself, we would love to meet you!

Safeguarding
